Our suppliers
Sustainable leather
We only use vegetable-tanned leather for our leather products such as saddles and bridles. As this is a natural product, it is free from harmful chemicals, biodegradable and therefore more environmentally friendly than conventionally tanned leather. Our product managers select all the leather themselves, e.g. EU leather or IN leather.
Vegan products and collections “Cortica” made of cork
With our “Cortica” collection, we are replacing leather with cork. Cork is a renewable raw material and a particularly sustainable alternative to leather. It is 100% biodegradable, does not deplete the tree population and contains no tanning agents or other chemicals. Cork is also vegan. We are also launching more and more new products made from vegan materials onto the market, e.g. gaiters and bell boots.
More environmentally friendly packaging
Already today, 80% of our products are no longer packaged in plastic. For products where we cannot do without packaging (e.g. bridles, headbands), we use paper instead of plastic wherever possible. We use kraft paper as an environmentally friendly alternative to plastic packaging and for labels. It is biodegradable, recyclable and contains no toxic substances. Cardboard boxes for packaging certain products (e.g. ankle boots, boots, chaps) are now uncoated instead of coated. We have also already been able to significantly reduce the amount of filling materials used in our supplier deliveries.
Our location:
Green energy
Our own photovoltaic system supplies us with electricity and our heat pump provides heating.
Animal-friendly company premises
70% of our large green area on the company premises is used in an animal-friendly way. There are bee-friendly bushes, fruit trees, protective areas for nesting, e.g. for hedgehogs, bird incubators and breeding areas. We also use rain barrels to water some of our beds.
Sustainable consumption and use
We also make conscious decisions in our day-to-day business and have drawn up our own guidelines for this purpose. For example, our shopping list includes ecological dishwashing and cleaning products, reusable products and recycled paper. We use materials sparingly, e.g. we print less and shred used paper and reuse it as filling material in shipping.
Reuse of materials
We reuse filling materials and cardboard packaging that we receive wherever possible.
Optimization of packaging
We are constantly scrutinizing the sizes and types of cardboard packaging and changing them in order to use less cardboard and filling material overall.
Digitization
We are gradually digitizing our site. From 2024, our new ERP system will ensure leaner processes and less printing.
Mobility
We are constantly optimizing route planning for our field service with the aim of reducing the number of journeys required. We use AdBLue for our X1 BMW in our fleet.
Climate-neutral printing
Our printed advertising materials are climate-neutral. This means that we take responsibility for the greenhouse gas emissions caused by printing our materials. To this end, we support climate protection projects that reduce emissions elsewhere.
